Big Banyan Tree, Ramohalli, Bangalore
We had been to this sprawling tree in March, 2007. Inspite of the summer starting the area of the tree was cool. Worth a visit once. We also went to the dam nearby which was dry. I am sure, it's better in rainy season with lush landscapes! I would suggest to visit this place during August, September for getting the right views and enjoy more!
How to Reach: We took the Magadi Road route which was pretty good! It's around 35-50Kms from Bangalore (Depending on the part of Bangalore you live in). We had gone in our own vehicle. We could see many citi buses plying till there.
What we liked: The tree and the serenity, as we had gone pretty early in the morning
What we disliked: The plastic & the cola culture that has spread to the tiny village
Best time to visit: August to January
One more thing: There are many farms here growing saplings of variety of flowers. We got a few of them. They were quality one's for good price! You can try them. Wish we had got more!!
